The Position
As part of our growing business, we are looking for a Functional Tester to join our team and support ongoing projects in Capelle aan den IJssel.
As a Functional Tester, your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing and executing functional test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Ensuring software applications meet the expected functionality, usability, and quality standards.
- Identifying, documenting, and following up on defects throughout the testing process.
- Collaborating with developers, analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
- Participating in test planning, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously enhance testing practices.
- Contributing to regression testing and ensuring consistent quality across releases.
Your Profile
- 3–8 years of experience as a Functional Tester or in a similar quality assurance role.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience in writing clear test scenarios, managing test data, and reporting defects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- HBO or WO degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Comfortable working remotely with engineering teams in other countries than the Netherlands.
