The Security Engineer develops, implements, and provides 3rd-level support for the Firm’s information technology infrastructure. The engineer will assist in the creation, implementation, and ongoing management (including forensics) of security-related systems. The position’s primary focus is the protection of data, systems, and facilities to ensure the protection, confidentiality, and integrity of the Firm in compliance with organizational policies and standards. The Senior Security Engineer will also provide input into the development of security awareness and training initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 3rd-level support and engineering for the Firm’s security systems, analyzing and improving processes.
  • Interfacing with internal customers and technical groups; occasional travel for audits, assessments, and forensics.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Architecting, implementing, and supporting security solutions to protect Firm assets.
  • Creating and reviewing security policies and procedures.
  • Using security tools (SIEM, IDS, vulnerability scanners, etc.) to identify issues and ensure compliance.
  • Reporting to the Information Security Manager.
  • Maintaining security-related information repositories.
  • Monitoring compliance with security policies and access controls.
  • Conducting security risk assessments and reporting failures for remediation.
  • Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Monitoring security technologies and trends as an internal security consultant.
  • Providing 3rd-level support for ticket resolution and change management.
  • Recommending and implementing security controls as needed.
  • Supporting security-related hardware and software on desktops, notebooks, and servers, including remote access tools.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of security concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with network systems.
  • Knowledge of data communications, hardware, and software.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and information system analysis.
  • Ability to analyze facts, define problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work productively without supervision.
